This administration has turned a surplus into a 9 trillion dollar deficit. Bush and Cheney claim that deficits don't matter, but that's only true if you don't care about your children and grandchildren. Somebody is going to be paying for this war and this reckless spending.
Democrats can claim no high ground since they have voted for bill after bill, many containing their own pork without regard to who ultimately will get stuck with the check.
As an Independent, I say we must spend within our means. Moreover, we must spend on our priorities, not on the issue of the day. Those priorities are education, health, and the environment.
If we're serious about accountability in government, then it's time for Oregonians to vote for an Independent like myself who is not captive to big money and clueless political parties.

Projected costs of Medicare and Social Security in the next 40 years will bankrupt this country if we don't take bold action now. Doing nothing is not an option.
